I know what you're expecting. Given my well documented hatred of Everybody Loves Raymond, you're expecting a bile filled missive that yet again it won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
Well, you're not going to get it. Instead, I'm just going to feel a little smug.
Remember when Nobilis didn't get nominated for a Best RPG Award at Origins, and every person paying attention wrote off the Origins awards at that very instant? Yeah, well the Emmys just passed over Desperate Housewives, Scrubs AND Arrested Development to honor Raymond.
Yup, that was, I think, the same moment. I hope it was. Not that the Emmy's had much credibility to begin with, but that was just them losing every last ounce of it.
As for the rest, well, I'm miffed that Lost won Drama, but then, I'm glad the terrible 4th season of 24 didn't. I'd rather have had Lost, which at least had the benefit of being fresh, win. Tony Shalhoub deserved his win for Monk, although I admit I'd have been tickled to see Jason Bateman win for Arrested Development.
Ah well. I do promise, to the Raymond faithful and the sane alike, that I will never talk again of the Emmys, or anything about Raymond again. There's far more important things to spend my rage on.
